The Danube región an opportunity to unite Europe

BRUSSELS, BELGIUM/ The Danube is one of the most important rivers in Europe and has enormous economic potential. As a reach region in biodiversity and water needs to be protected, too. The river goes across 14 countries in the Old Continent and proper strategies are required to move into a sustainable development. This Strategy will focus on eleven concrete priority action areas, such as the improvement of navigability, water quality, security cooperation and the opportunities for tourism.
